65 Division troops taking a new initiative towards the ongoing 'Thruliya Wenuwen Api' project of the Army distributed a stock of 300 cashew saplings for planting among civilians during a brief ceremony in Pllavarayankaddu, Solainela village on Tuesday (22 ).
Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding 65 Division gave his blessings and guidelines for the project. Commander 651 Brigade, Colonel Chamath Warakagoda supervised and coordinated the project with the troops of 11 (Volunteer) Gajaba Regiment serving the 651 Brigade.
Mr. K Kamalendran who is living in Solainela village has donated those saplings to the General Officer Commanding of 65 Division for distribution.
