Troops of the 641 Infantry Brigade of the 64 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu organized a Soft Ball Cricket Tournament Championship among the Civil Sports teams in Mullaittivu area from 1 April to 5 April at 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment playground.
Major General H.W.K.N Iriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 64 Infantry Division watched the final match (April 8) as the Chief Guest.
The Muththuvinayagapuram Sports Club team and Palampasi Sports team vied in the final match and Palampasi Sports team after a close fight won the championship.
Mr. Mahalingam Dayabaran and Mr. Ramasami Kanawadipillai, two philanthropists in Mullaittivu provided the sponsorship for the cricket tournament.
Under the guidance of Brigadier W.L Kolonnage USP, Brigade Commander of the 641 Infantry Brigade, 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops did the administrative and organizational arrangements of the cricket tournament.
Senior officers, Offers, Other Ranks and civilians witnessed the final Match.
