641 Brigade Troops Win Crop Cultivation Competition

All troops in Divisions, Brigades, Units and the Forward Maintenance Area - Mullaittivu (FMA - MLT) of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) throwing their weight behind the ongoing National Food Production Campaign, ‘Api Wawamu - Rata Nagamu’ enthusiastically participated in a crop cultivation competition, held in close collaboration with the Department of Agriculture & Livestock in Mullaittivu District.

641 Brigade Headquarters was adjudged as the best crop cultivation while the second and third places went to the 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 6 (V) Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) troops who also have contributed to the programme in an impressive manner.

Officials of the Department of Agriculture & Livestock served as judges for selection of best cultivation farms after inspecting them, along with respective soldiers and Officers.

The programme, initiated by Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu began in the latter part of last year with the support of all the troops serving under the SFHQ-MLT.

Major General C.S Atipola, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area – Mullaittivu awarded certificates and incentives to the winners on Monday (18) during a simple ceremony, attended by Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin & Quartering, 641 Brigade Commander, Colonel Admin & Quartering, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were present during the event.
