64 Division troops of the Security Force HQ - Oddusuddan hosted a felicitation ceremony for their newly-promoted General Officer Commanding, Major General Upul Weerakoon on Tuesday (10) upon his return to the Division HQ after his recent promotion.
The General Officer Commanding on arrival at the venue reviewed the Guard Turn Out and the Guard of Honour salute in the parade square at the 64 Division HQ compound, presented by 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops. Before concluding the day’s itinerary, he left memories by planting a sapling in front of the Parade Ground as a symbol of memory.
Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 64 Division Headquarters, Commanding Officers and other ranks were present on the occasion.
