64 Division Gives Blood to A'pura Patients on Anniversary Day

Over 130 troops of the 64 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu giving a community-oriented importance to its 14th anniversary commemoration on Thursday (Dec 08) volunteered to give blood for patients at the 64 Infantry Division HQ premises during arrangements, made in collaboration with the Blood Bank at Anuradhapura Hospital.

This life-saving project was planned on the instructions of Major General Nissanka Eriyagama, General Officer Commanding, 64 Infantry Division, and Lieutenant Colonel A. T Hajji, Civil Affairs Officer, 64 Infantry Division who closely coordinated with the hospital for a medical team of 10 members, including a Medial Officer.

The Anuradapura Blood Bank, short of stocks readily responded to the Army request and organized the medical part of the programme. A total of 130 Officers and Other Ranks in the 64 Infantry Division considering critical needs of the patients donated their blood as part of their anniversary commemoration.
