Repeating one of its community-oriented projects, 64 Division HQ under the SFHQ-MLT wanted distribution of a large stock of coconut saplings among civilians with cultivating possibilities in Oddusudan area.
Those saplings were delivered to Kulamurippu St Joseph church and Sivam Kovil priests on Tuesday (1) at Oddusudan for further distribution.
Major General Manjula Karunarathna, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division went to those religious places and handed them over for distribution among those who want them.
Lieutenant Colonel U.L.C Jayasena, Civil Affairs Officer, 642 Brigade coordinated the project.
The same 64 Division troops earlier distributed one more stock of saplings on 18th May to coincide with National War Heroes' Day.
Priests, Brigadier D.P.J.C Jayawardena, 641 Brigade Commander, Brigadier V.D.S Perera, 642 Brigade Commander and several senior Officers attended the occasions.
