64 Infantry Division troops under the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu put up a colourful Vesak zone in the Oddusudan town and the General Officer Commanding, 64 Infantry Division, Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP inaugurated it on the Vesak Poya day (May 05) in the presence of a gathering of troops and civilians.
Accordingly, troops of the 641, 642, 643 Infantry Brigades, 8 Sri Lanka Artillery, 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 17 (V) Gajaba Regiment crafted creative works and displayed them attracting a large crowd of sight-seers and civilians in the area. Those innovative and creative productions of the troops remained a huge attraction for more than three days.
On the same evening, troops gave away free buns and tea for over 3000 civilians practising the virtue of ‘giving’ (daana).
