622 Infantry Brigade Troops with Donors' Support Get School Accessories & Dry Rations for 100 Families

A group of donors, appreciative of the Army's determined efforts to raise the living and educational standards of the people and students in areas, served by 622 Infantry Brigade troops of the 62 Infantry Division in the Wanni region, launched a project to distribute dry rations and school accessories to 100 families after inviting them to the Ehetugaswewa Maha Vidyalaya on Friday (25).

50 packs of school accessories, worth about Rs 400,000.00 and 50 dry ration packs to the value of Rs 1,75,000.00 were distributed among students and parents who are from low-income group families during this programme.

This community-oriented programme was jointly sponsored by NS Performances Pvt Ltd, Kitchen House Pvt Ltd and Warna Pharmacy through the coordination of Mr Nadun Samarakkody who in turn liaised with the Army for identification of the most deserving, transport of those beneficiaries, parceling and distribution of those relief items and incentives.

The programme at the Ehetugaswewa Maha Vidyalaya was attended by the General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division Major General Janaka Ranasinghe, together with Brigadier Enoj Herath, Brigade Commander of the 622 Infantry Brigade.

The event was organized by the Commanding Officer of 9 Gajaba Regiment, together with his troops.
