622 Brigade Troops with Sponsors’ Support Gift Students with Exercise Books

622 Infantry Brigade troops of the 62 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni with the patronage received from the Colombo Royal College Old Boys’ Association and the Alumni Association of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized the donation of exercise books to 400 needy students studying at Palugaswanguwa National School, Track 11/12 Samanpura Maha Vidyalaya, Track 10 Tissapura Maha Vidyalaya, Ehetugaswewa Maha Vidyalaya and the Kiriibbanwewa Vidyalaya during 19 -20 December after inviting all the beneficiaries to the Palugaswanguwa National School premises.

The organizational aspect of the project got underway under the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division, Major General Janaka Ranasinghe and under the supervision of Brigadier Enoj Herath, Commander, 622 Infantry Brigade.

The 62 Infantry Division’s General Officer Commanding attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lieutenant Colonel R.W.G.S Munasinghe, Commanding Officer of the 9th Battalion Gajaba Regiment coordinated the launch of the project.

The programme was sponsored by the members of the Royal College Old Boys Association and members of the Alumni Association of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya and his team, under their 7th phase of the ‘Atha-Hitha’ Programme arranged the donation with those two teams of donors.
