613 Brigade troops of the 61 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters - West with sponsorship facilitated by the office of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff made arrangements to distribute 100 dry rations packs on Sunday (03) at Dutugamunu temple in Baddegama.
One Mr P.S Jagoda, the United States of America-based philanthropist through the office of the Chief of Defence Staff sponsored the free distribution of those relief packs among needy people in the area after inviting beneficiaries to the temple compound in coordination with respective Grama Seva officials.
Colonel Indika Jayaweera, Commander 613 Brigade closely supervised the distribution project, supported by officers and other ranks of the 613 Brigade HQ. The donor was also present at the location.
