Troops of the 6 Sri Lanka Artillery (6 SLA) organized a community project on 04 March 2024, to distribute school accessories to students at Dagonna Ranasinghe Primary School and spectacles to villagers residing in Dagonna, Minuwangoda.
A group of philanthropists funded the event under the coordination of Lieutenant Colonel G.R.R.K.S. Jayarathne RSP psc IG, the Commanding Officer of 6 SLA. During the event, 36 students of Dagonna Ranasinghe Primary School received school accessories, and 60 pairs of spectacles were donated to visually impaired villagers.
Colonel R.R de S Darmawickrama RSP, the Commander, the 141 Infantry Brigade, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in the program.
