In another move of reconciliation and ethnic harmony, troops of the 593 Brigade under the 59 Division renovated a pre-school and its children's park and handed it over to the school authority on Tuesday (4) at Chemmali GN Division in Mullaittivu District.
On the instructions of Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT), troops of the 593 Brigade took the initiative under the direction of 593 Brigade Commander Colonel Lanka Amarapala with the blessings of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.
Financial assistance for this commendable project was provided by Mr Thulanthan Senanayake a philanthropist.
Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Colonel Lanka Amarapala, 593 Brigade Commander, Mrs U Puwanaraja, Zonal Director Education Mullaittivu, Mr Gunapalan, Teaching Advisor for preschools, Mullaittivu, Mr S Baskaran, Principal, Chemmaili Maha Vidyalaya, Mr Thulantha Senanayake, Mrs Dilrukshi Senanayake and Mr Ranjith Attanayake, Regional Marketing Manager (CBL).
