592 Brigade Troops-Built New Pre-School Building Warmed

The Army-built new pre-school at 103, Mulliyaweli - West Grama Niladhari Division in Mullaittivu, sponsored by Avalon Sri Lanka was opened on Thursday (2) during a ceremony, coloured with cultural features of the kids who received admission to the new pre-school.

District Secretary for Mullaittivu unveiled a plaque before General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, Major General P.D Sooriya Bandara was invited to unlock the door of the new building along with the teacher of the new pre-school.

After the welcome speech, kids were gifted with school accessories and books on the same occasion along with the registration of the first kid’s admission to the new pre-school. The whole building was brought to completion by 23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 592 Brigade on the instructions of the Brigade Commander.

Troops and a gathering of invitees including religious dignitaries, Mr Kethish, Director Avalon Sri Lanka, Maritime Divisional Secretary and others participated in the warming ceremony. Hindu religious rites and rituals blessed the project before the kids moved in.

On 8 Dec 2020, the foundation-stone was laid for the construction but the COVID-19 epidemic posed a setback to its construction. The warming ceremony followed health guidelines.
