581 Infantry Brigade Initiates Offer of School Aids to 100 Hatton Students

With sponsorships organized by the Army, troops of the 581 Infantry Brigade of the 58 Infantry Division of the 1 Corps on 25 April gave away school aid packs, each worth Rs 3000/= to 100 students studying at Tamil College, Hatton.

The combined sponsorships, offered by Hidramani International Exports Private Ltd and troops of the Brigade who voluntarily collected contributions for the worthy cause enabled the mammoth donation project, coincident with the dawn of Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

The Commander, 581 Infantry Brigade graced the distribution event as the chief guest, together with representatives of the sponsors, Officers, Other Ranks, Principal with the tutorial staff and parents. The guidance of Brigadier M.N Fernanado, Commander, 581 Infantry Brigade enabled the conduct of this community-oriented project considering economic hardships of the people in the area.

Major General W.R.M.M Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Central, together with Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of 11 Infantry Division extended their blessings to the project.
