Troops of the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) launched a ‘Shramadana’ campaign at St Anthony's church premises in Paranthan on 23 December as one more community project.
General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Jagath Gunawardhana gave his blessings to the project and it was carried out under the directions of Brigade Commander, 573 Brigade, Colonel Janaka Ranasinghe.
The event was meant to enhance religious amity and reconciliation in the area.
87 Army personnel from 573 Brigade Headquarters, 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) took part in the ‘Shramadhana’ movement.
Members of the Clergy before the day’s arrangement drew to a close, invoked blessings on the Army.
