57 Division Organizes Christmas Carols in Kilinochchi

A Christmas Carols service at St. Theresa Pastoral Centre premises with 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry band, Sri Lanka Army Choir, together with guest choirs paraded the heart of Kilinochchi town on Friday (17), following arrangements, made by the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu in close coordination with the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena.

Carols were sung to extend greetings on the forthcoming Christmas and the dawn of the New Year in Kilinochchi. Smartly-dressed Santa Claus distributed Christmas gifts among children who showed up at the locations on Friday (17).

Bishop of Jaffna His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, Vicar General, Rev Fr PJ Jebarathnam, Catholic dignitaries, senior Military Officers, including Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe as the Chief Guest together with several officers attended the inaugural occasion. The service was conducted in both Tamil and English languages. A special prayer session and a sermon were also delivered along with Bible readings prayers. The Army band reverberated X'mas sentiments attracted the attention of all attendees.

Rev Fr Jesudasan, Dean of Kilinochchi, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Brigadier K.G.C.M.H Gamlath, Commander, 571 Brigade, Brigadier M.P.N.A Muthumala, Commander, 572 Brigade, all Battalion Commanders, Division staff and Christian devotees in the general area participated in the Carols service.
