57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently celebrated its 9th Anniversary with elaborate programmes on the directions of Brigadier W.A.T.A Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Division.
The anniversary celebrations kicked off with a special prayer ceremony, held at Muslim Jumma Mosque, Kilinochchi on Saturday (20).
An alms-giving arranged for 350 children at Maha Deva Ashrama, Kilinochchi the following day (21) was attended by many officers.
A special Bodhi Pooja ceremony was held at Lumbini Viharaya, Kilinochchi Monday (22) evening to invoke blessings on the Division & the Army.
Later on, a special Pooja ceremony was conducted at Kandasami Kovil – Kilinochchi on Tuesday (23).
A special Christian service then took place at the South Indian Catholic Association, (Kilinochchi Church branch) on Wednesday (24).
On 26 February, a Guard turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by troops serving under command Brigades and Battalions, saluted Brigadier W.A.T.A Sudasinghe at the Divisional Headquarters premises, marking the military formalities in the anniversary programme.
In the meantime, an all-rank lunch and an inter-branch cricket encounter culminated the day’s programme.
On Sunday (28) a mega music and entertaining event marked the end of the anniversary arrangements.
