562 Infantry Brigade with Donors Provides Incentives to Vavuniya Students

An initiative of the 562 Infantry Brigade of the 56 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni provided school books and stationery items to 150 needy students at Etambagaskada Vidyalaya, Agrabodhi Vidyalaya, Mahakachchikudi Vidyalaya, Bogaswewa Vidyalaya and Neduklam Primary schools in and around Vavuniya on Wednesday (23 August) after inviting them to the Sri Swarnathilakaramaya in Mamaduwa.

The People's Bank Buddhist Association at the invitation of the Army sponsored the cost of those school books and stationery items.

General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Major General H.G.P.M Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG graced the occasion as the chief guest during the distribution ceremony along with Mr. Rohan Perera of the People’s Bank Buddhist Association and other key officials of the People’s Bank, Commander, 562 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier T.M.S.J Tennakoon RSP, the Commander, 561 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K.M.G Bandaranayake USP psc, the President of Deputy Educational Zonal Director, Mr R Weerasinghe, Commanding Officers from under command Battalions, Senior Officers, Other Ranks, Principals and teachers.

Several entertaining features, presented by the beneficiaries coloured the event.
