56 Division Troops to Build New Home for Needy Family with Sponsor Support

The foundation stone-laying event for construction of a house to a low-income group family in the general area of Vinghanakulam, Sinnaadappan GN Division in Vavuniya took place recently as per directions of the General Officer Commanding. 56 Division, Major General Nandana Dunuwila. The project coincides with the Commander's conceptual project for assisting the general public to have a decent dwelling place in most remote areas.

After the plight of the family of Mrs S. Kumuduni living in Vinghanakulam, Sinnaadappan was brought to the attention of the needy family, the project got to a start as per the plan and the guidance of the Commander 561 Brigade, Brigadier R. M. P. S. B Rathnayaka along with manpower, technical and engineering expertise of 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops. Mr. Ajith P Rambukkana, a social worker has volunteered to sponsor the project at the GOC's request.

General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General Nandana Dunuwila participated in the inauguration as the Chief Guest. Commander 561 Brigade, Development Officer in the DS Division Nedunkerni, Samurdhi Niladhari, Commanding Officer of 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the inaugural event.
