557 More Confirmed Positive in Last 24 Hours -NOCPCO

As of this morning (2), a total of 557 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were two Sri Lankan expatriates and other 555 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 192 from Colombo district, 127 from Gampaha district, 61 from Kalutara district and other 175 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (2), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 40,104. Meanwhile, 33,397 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (37,045) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (2), a total of 43,855 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 36,154 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,493 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (2), 826 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 04 more deaths have been reported from Dharga Town, Kalutara, Alaiadiwembu and Colombo 14 areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 208 by this morning (1).

By this morning (2), the flight EY 264 from UAE with 43 passengers, the flight QR 668 from the Qatar with 26 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 90 passengers have arrived. The flight PQ 455 from Ukraine with 175 passengers, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 18 passengers, the flight UL 867 from China with 7 passengers, the flight WY 373 from Oman with 32 passengers and the flight UL 554 from Germany with 4 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
