The 55 Infantry Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) with the sponsorship, extended by the US-based philanthropist, Mr Vish Nadaraja, completed a partly-built house of a Senior Non Commissioned Officer (SNCO) serving the 55 Infantry Division for over 4 years.
Troops of the 55 Infantry Division upon the financial assistance, offered by the donor to the value of Rs 1.3 million as a special regard for the cause and the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division undertook the project and completed it within few weeks expanding the house to include 3 bed rooms, one spacious kitchen, dining room, living room and a verandah.
Major General Prasanna Gunarathna, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 55 Infantry Division, together with the troops who completed the project recently went to the location and formally informed the beneficiary of the completion of his dream house where his two daughters and the family could be accommodated with ease.
