Multi religious programmes invoked blessings on the 26th anniversary of the 55 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) during 15 - 18 December.
On Thursday (15) troops led by the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division held special pooja (offerings) at the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya and Ruwanweli Maha Seya premises respectively and on Firday (16) troops participated in a separate Bodhi Pooja programme inside the Divisional HQ compound before they attended Hindu religious blessings at Mullian Amman Kovil on Saturday (17).
A Catholic service at St Mary’s Church on Sunday (18) brought religious segments of the anniversary to an end.
Major General Prasanna Gunarathne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division together with Officers and Other Ranks of the Division participated in the religious programmes.
