The recently-appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 55 Infantry Division, Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardena RSP ndc, upon his assumption of office made his maiden visits to the 552 Infantry Brigade in Pooneryn and its under-command Battalions on 23 August.
Accordingly, the GOC at first visited the 552 Infantry Brigade and subsequently, 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard camps. In the Brigade HQ premises and each Battalion, the GOC received separate comprehensive briefings from the Brigade Commander and respective Battalion Commanders. Afterwards, Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardena RSP ndc addressed the troops and interacted with them.
