55 Division Troops Learn More about Professional Photography

55 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ -Jaffna during Feb 09-10 organized a two-day workshop on photography in order to educate 04 Officers and 31 Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, 51, 52, 55 Infantry Divisions, its Brigades and Battalions with special focus on new dimensions of the field.

Mr Nithya Silva, a well-known photographer at the request of the 55 Infantry Division conducted the programme on both days, educating troops on aiming, framing, and focusing on abilities in order to create photographs of superior quality and appealing nature. The test images of each participant were presented at the end of the session showcasing their marked improvement after workshop sessions.

This was initiated on a conceptual notion of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division. Lieutenant L.D.I Liyanaarachchi coordinated the workshop with the instructor who generously spent time educating the troops.

Towards the end of the project, the GOC, 55 Division presented a special memento to Mr Nithya Silva appreciating his contribution to the training.
