An awareness programme on 'Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)' and AIDS for 55 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) was conducted by Dr. Venuri Fernando, Venereologist Consultant at Venereal Disease Unit, Kilinochchi District Hospital on Wednesday (25).
The workshop was organized by 55 Division troops on the directions of Brigadier Jayantha Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division with the aim of educating military personnel on 'Sexually Transmitted Diseases' and AIDS.
The programme focused on preventive measures and treatment for infected people, also the spread of the STDs. More than 200 Army personnel participated in this awareness programme.
