With the primary objective of enhancing civil-military coordination, a Volleyball Tournament was conducted at Thullikudiyirippu St. Mary's Volleyball Playground on 08 October 2023 on the instructions of Major General G.W.A Seneviratne USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division.
Brigadier D.N.C Serasinghe RSP USP, the Commander of the 543 Infantry Brigade gave the guidance for 543 Infantry Brigade troops for the project.
11 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and the 4 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops took the lead in the organizational aspects. Notably, it featured the active participation of 13 civil sports club teams in Mannar area.
The tournament served as a unique platform for bridging the gap between the military and the civilian population in this region. Additionally, the local business community played a pivotal role by providing sponsorship and support, contributing significantly to the success of this event and for award of trophies and incentives.
