Troops of the 521 Brigade HQ distributed a stock of a dry ration packs among 50 selected underprivileged families, residing in Urikkadu area to mark the 26th Anniversary of the 521 Brigade HQ on Friday (20).
Each dry ration pack, worth about Rs.3000/= included rice, dhal, sugar, milk powder, salt, tea leaves, onions, etc and was sponsored by the troops of the 521 Brigade and the 11 Vijabahu Infantry Regiment.
These ration packs were delivered to the beneficiaries by taking them to their doorsteps as they were unable to move from their houses due to the curfew imposed to prevent the spread of COVID -19 outbreak.
Commander 521 Brigadier Mahen Salwatura with his staff and Major N.R.N.T Nishyanka Commanding Officer and troops of 11 Vijabahu Infantry Regiment took part in this event, adhering to the health formalities.
