To coincide with the 70th Independence Day, 52 Division troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Saturday (3) offered their blood for use of patients in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
3 Officers and 95 Other Rankers thus gave away blood during the arrangement inside the 52 Division Headquarters. The project came into being as a proposal of Major General Aruna Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division.
A medical team of 8 members of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital were on hand to collect blood of Army personnel. Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna has extended blessings to the project.
