Troops of the 52 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ- Jaffna assisted in dousing a fire which broke out in a Coir Mill at Muhavil, Iyyakachchi on Friday (8 Sep).
More than 60 troops and Army water bourses were engaged to extinguish the fire together with the Fire Brigade of Iyyakachchi, according to the directions provided by the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division and Commander of the 522 Infantry Brigade.
The Commanding Officer of the 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the Commanding Officer of the 10 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment supervised the troops' contribution.
