513 Infantry Brigade Troops Encourage Students to Continue Studies

513 Infantry Brigade troops of the 51 Infantry Division expanding their community-oriented welfare projects with the sponsorship of Jaffna-based Sri Murugan Foundation, Pradeepaloka distributed school bags and accessories to the value of Rs. 1.2 million among 194 students learning in Grade 5 scholarship examination classes on Sunday (12).

Mr. R Suresh, President, Sri Murugan Foundation at the request of the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General Swarna Bothota and through the coordination of the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General Vajira Welagedra and the supervision of the Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Rizvi Razick offered patronage to the project after economic hardships of those children were brought to the notice of the donor Foundation.

The Commanding Officer of the 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Kariyawasm and his troops collected those carefully selected students from 513 Infantry Brigade area to the Karainagar Hindu College premises and gave away those incentives as some of them found it difficult to continue their studies due to lack of any income for their families.
