On the directives of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, 51 Division troops, ahead of the planned re-opening of schools in the peninsula after COVID - 19 threat, carried out disinfection and sterilization of schools in order to mitigate risks of contamination on the guidelines given by the Major General Lalith Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding, 51 Division during 27-30 June.
The project covered schools in Chunnakam, Inuvil, Uduvil, Kopay, Thavady, Ujarapulam, Urumpirai, Velanai, Kayts, Ariyalai, Arali, Vaddukkodai, Sangarathai, Mallakam, Alaveddy, Pannalai, Maviddapuram, Sandilippay, Thaiyiddi, Kankesanthurai, Palali, Kurumpasiddy, Vasavilan, Mailiddy, Valalai Kopay, Irupalai, Karampan, Thellippalai, Veemankamam, Vardavilan, Ottakappulam and Urani areas with the objective of facilitating students into a healthy and hygienic environment, free from COVID-19 virus and other infectious germs.
