4 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (4 SLAC) recently inaugurated its newly-constructed Auditorium and Tactical and Technical Training Arena on 02 April 2024 at the unit premises in Clappenburg during a brief ceremony presided by Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander, Security Forces – West and Colonel Commandant of SLAC.
The new auditorium will provide a comfortable training environment for the troops of 4 SLAC and visiting delegations from various Tri-Service establishments. The auditorium has a seating capacity for 200.
The Tactical and Technical Training Arena consists of an Operational History Briefing Area, a fully equipped Model Room and an Operational Activity Briefing Area. The projects were carried-out under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel D.M.V.M.R Dissanayake RWP RSP psc, the Commanding Officer of 4 SLAC.
During the troop address the Colonel Commandant highlighted the significance of having such an important asset to ensure the preservation of hard earned knowledge and experiences for future generations of the Army.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLAC also took part in the event.
