33 Qualified in LRP Course No - 22 Receive Badges

Three Officers and thirty Other Ranks of the Special Forces (SF) Regiment who had successfully completed the nine month-long ‘Long Range Patrol’ (LRP) Course No - 22 in the 3 SF Jungle Training Base at Pirappamadu, Vavuniya received their badges of proficiency and insignia during a simple ceremony held at SF Regimental Centre - Naula on Monday (14).

Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces and Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Centre Commandant (overlooking) at SF Regimental Centre, Colonel Kanishka Ganegoda, together with Commanding Officer, 3 SF, Lieutenant Colonel S.M.N.K.B Senevirathna welcomed the day’s Chief Guest at the entrance to the camp.

After a while, the day’s Chief Guest, together with Major General Vipula Ihalage, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division, Major General Chandimal Peiris, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Nissanka Eriyagama, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division and Major General Mahinda Ranasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division in succession pinned the LRP insignia symbolically on all the graduates. The day’s Chief Guest also addressed the gathering after award of trophies to the achievers in the LRP Course No - 22.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the ceremony.
