300 Students in Kilinochchi thru Army Initiative Given Free Writing Materials & Stationery

Sponsorship, provided by Hatton National Bank (HNB) at the request of the Army, enabled free distribution of writing books, stationery and materials among 300 needy students studying at Killinochchi Kariyalanagapadduwan Tamil Mixed School, Akkarayakulam Maha Vidyalaya and Selliyathiv Tamil School on Sunday (23 April) at respective schools premises.

Troops of the 66 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ Mullaittivu, aware of economic hardships of those families initiated and organized the donation project among students.

The ceremony saw all writing books, materials and A-4 sheets, needed in schools were distributed among the students during the arrangement, coordinated by the 66 Infantry Division's Civil Affairs Officer, Lieutenant Colonel H.P.D.A Wijesekara.

The blessings of the General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division Major General R.K.N.C Jayawardana RSP ndc, Colonel K.G.M.N Senevirathne USP, Commander, 661 Infantry Brigade, Colonel K.P.P Karunanayake USP, Commander, 662 Infantry Brigade and Colonel KA.N.D.R Kannangara RSP IG, Commander, 663 Infantry Brigade facilitated the conduct of the distribution ceremony.

Mr. Damith Pallewatte, Deputy General Manager of Hatton National Bank, Officials of HNB, together with principals and teachers of respective schools were present during the distribution.

Commanding Officers of 11 (v) Gajaba Regiment, 20 (v) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 5 (v) Mechanized Infantry Regiment were also associated with the occasion.
