Troops of the 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ- C) , took immediate steps to bring a fast spreading bushfire under control in the general area of Pidurutalagala, Nuwara Eliya on Tuesday (10).
The fire that broke out in Pidurutalagala Forest conservation was brought to the notice of the troops of the 3 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (3 SLSR) serving Wellawaya area who afterwards reached the area swiftly and brought it under control.
More than 30 Army personnel at ground level contributed to wrest control of the fast spreading fire.
In the meantime, troops of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (19 SLNG) serving the 112 Brigade, took immediate steps to bring a fast spreading bushfire under control in the general area of Roshita Farm, Nuwara Eliya on Tuesday (10).
