2,815 More Affected Ones Detected – NOCPCO

As of this morning (8), a total of 2,815 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 19 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,796 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 413 from Colombo & Galle Districts, 324 from Kalutara District, 243 from Gampaha District and 1,403 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (8), a total of 327,037 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 216,426 were reported after the New Year.

By Sunday (8) morning (past 24 hours), 2,487 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 06 August, 98 more deaths have been reported including 47 males and 51 females.

As of Sunday (8), 4,159 persons in 66 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. By Sunday (8) morning, 698 persons have left 18 QCs after completion of their quarantining process.
