On account of the 26th Anniversary of the 51 Division of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna, troops distributed 300 lunch packets among people, living in Selvapuram village in the Jaffna peninsula on Sunday (22).
The community project that expects to further strengthen bonds of goodwill, reconciliation and cooperation between troops and the common masses carried those lunch packets to their doorsteps and gave them away to the recipients. As the Division Headquarters is located in the same village area, the gesture helped them to relieve them of their burdens in the midst of prevailing quarantine curfew.
The project was suggested by the General Officer Commanding - 51 Division, Major General Deepal Pussella as one more segment of the anniversary programmes.
