241 Infantry Brigade Gives School Accessories

The 241 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ - East with the help of donors distributed a large stock of school accessories among 40 children at Swami Vipulananda Children‘s Home in Akkaraipattu on Saturday (24).

The initiatives was taken by Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division who also attended the distribution programme as the Chief Guest.

Accordingly, 40 students received school aid packs, each inclusive of a school bag, a pair of shoes and stationery, worth more than Rs 10,000.00. Colonel L.S.D.N Pathirathna RSP USP, Commander of 241 Infantry Brigade supervised the necessary arrangements and coordinated the project with the help of his troops.

This was made possible with the monetary assistance, offered by a group of philanthropists including members of the ‘Lions Club of Raigampurawaraya 306 A-2’, Mr Alikan of Osaka Lanka, Mr S Sivadasa of Siva Distributors, Dr A.A.E Nuwan Madushanka and doctors at Akkaraipattu Hospital, Mrs Priyanthi De Silva residing in Australia, Mr Shiron Gunawardana residing in the United Kingdom and Mr Ponnerselvam from Switzerland.
