24 Infantry Division Provides School Supplies to Ampara District Students

The 24 Infantry Division, with the aim of assisting underprivileged students in Ampara District, coordinated a program to provide school supplies on 18 February 2024 at the Ampara Divisional Secretariat. This initiative targeted 500 needy students in Dhamana Maha Vidyalaya, Deegawapiya Sinhala School, Pudunagar Tamil Primary School, Malwatta, and Mahinda Rajapaksha College, Mahaoya.

Under the guidance of Major General W. Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division and with the coordination of Colonel B.D.T.D Jayarathne psc, Senior Instructor of the Senior Command Course at the Army War College, Buttala, Mr. Damith Pallewattha, Deputy General Manager of Hatton National Bank and his staff generously contributed 2 million for the school accessories.

The General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division, the Senior Instructor of the Senior Command Course at the Army War College Buttala, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, representatives from Hatton National Bank, principals of respective schools, teachers and parents participated in the event.
