24 Infantry Division HQ Warms its New Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess

The inaugural warming ceremony of the newly - constructed Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess (WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess) in the 24 Infantry Division HQ compound took place on Friday (8 Sept) during a simple ceremony, attended by Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division as the Chief Guest.

Division’s Sergeant Major and all Senior Non Commissioned Officers of the 24 Infantry Division warmly welcomed the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division in front of the new building and invited him to symbolize its inaugural warming by unveiling the special plaque and cutting a ribbon. Later, the General Officer Commanding closely inspected the interior sections of the new facility.

The collective efforts of former General Officers Commanding and the incumbent General Officer Commanding, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc enabled own troops to erect this much-required facility.

As the final segment of the ceremony, the General Officer Commanding planted a sapling in front of the new construction and added memories before he sat for a group photograph and refreshments.

The new WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess offers modern amenities that could improve the life quality for our dedicated servicemen and women. The Mess features a spacious dining hall where WOs and Sgts could enjoy meals and refreshments together, fostering bonds and camaraderie over shared experiences.
