233 Brigade Troops Support Religious Ceremony

6 Gajaba Regiment troops of the 233 Brigade under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) during 13-14 November assisted the conduct of the annual ‘Katina Cheevara’ ceremony at Mahindarama Viharaya in Valachchenai, in response to a request made by the Chief incumbent of the Mahindarama Viharaya.

The ceremony also saw the ordination of several novice monks during the ‘Katina Pinkama’. Troops supported preparatory arrangements for the ceremony and provided all material assistance as well for the conduct of the event. Participation of the troops was supervised by Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel Wasantha Hewage. All officers and Other Ranks contributed to the successful completion of the project.
