Troops of the 231 Infantry Brigade of the 23 Infantry Division on the directions of Brigadier W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP psc, Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade offered a lunch treat to the adults, resident in the ‘Little Sisters of the Poor’ Elders’ Home in Batticaloa on Monday (May 8).
25 male and 25 female elderly people enjoyed the Army hospitality under the project before they were entertained to music. In addition, a stock of essentials was also distributed among the adults. Mrs. S.D.K Kumari, a philanthropist provided the Army a donation of Rs. 50,000/= for purchase of necessary varieties of foods.
Brigadier W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP psc, Brigade Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mr. Udith Liyanage, Deputy Inspector General, Batticaloa District, Lieutenant Colonel W.G.N.D Weerasinghe, Civil Affairs Officer, 231 Infantry Brigade and Brigade troops participated in this programme.
