The 64 Infantry Division during 13 - 23 November organized a football tournament to improve the sports skill of under command Brigades and Battalion troops at the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) playground in Oddusuddan.
8 football teams representing Brigades and Battalions under command to the 64 Infantry Division participated in the competition.
The 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment team after a close tussle won the championship pushing their rival, 662 Infantry Brigade team to be a runner-up.
Lance Corporal W.P.M De Silva was awarded the trophy as the Best Player of the tournament.
The final match and awarding ceremony took place on 23 November where Major General Nissanka Iriyagama, General Officer Commanding, 64 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Brigadier Medanka Alwis, Commander, 642 Infantry Brigade.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks watched the final match.
