23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) became the champions in the 24 Division-organized, Inter Battalion Basketball Tournament - 2018 that took place at Basketball court in the Combat Training School (CTS), Ampara during 9-10 January 2018.
Seven more teams under the 24 Division vied for the Championship during those two days. The wining trophy was secured by the 23 SLSR team while pushing the 241 Brigade team to be the Runners-up.
Lieutenant P.R.K Ranaweera of 16 (V) SLNG of the 241 Brigade team secured the award for the Best Shooter while the Rifleman J.M Priyankara of the 23 SLSR was awarded as the Best Player in the tournament.
The tournament was organized on the directions of Major General Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 24 Division.
Colonel T.H Draheem, Colonel Administration and Quartering, 24 Division attended the closing ceremony representing the GOC, 24 Division as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the achievers.
Colonel W. Chandrasiri, Brigade Commander, 241 Brigade, Senior Officers and Other Rankers were present at the venue.
