The new dry ration store building of the 440 Composite Squadron of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) was established in the premises and vested it in the troops during a ceremony on Tuesday (24 Oct) inside the 23 Infantry Division premises.
Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, Commander of the Security Force Headquarters-East on 24 October at the request of Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division opened the new store building.
A drive-past Guard Turnout at the 23 Infantry Division entrance saluted the day’s Chief Guest on arrival before the GOC 23 Infantry Division welcomed him.
Accompanied by the General Officer Commanding and Staff Officers of the 23 Infantry Division, the East Commander had a close look at the whole project by visiting each section in the new store. The East Commander commended the Staff Officers and All Ranks for acceleration of the project for proper maintenance of the facility.
