Troops of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna on Saturday (22 July) evening swiftly acted and doused a fast-spreading fire at Coco Sheet Factory at Palai, Iththavil in the Jaffna peninsula.
The General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc on being informed the outbreak of the fire directed 23 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops to rush there. However, troops within a few hours, managed to extinguish the fire.
