The certificate awarding ceremony of the Inter Division Volleyball Tournament of the Security Force HQ - East (SFHQ - East) got underway on 20 December at Gallella - Polonnaruwa National Indoor Stadium.
The preliminary round matches of the tournament were joined by Volleyball teams of the SFHQ-East, Forward Maintenance Area - East, 22, 23 and 24 Infantry Divisions in the 7 Sri Lanka Artillery volleyball court at Minneriya.
22 and 23 Infantry Divisions' Volleyball teams were qualified for the finals by defeating other teams. The final match of the tournament was held in the National Indoor Stadium at Gallella, Polonnaruwa on 20 December.
Finally, the 23 Infantry Division Volleyball Team secured the championship beating their rival, 22 Infantry Division team.
Guidelines and guidance given by Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, Commander, SFHQ - East, the 23 Infantry Division troops organized the event under the supervision of Major General Shewanth Kulathunge, General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division.
Major General Shewanth Kulathunge, General Officer Commanding, the 23 Infantry Division graced the awarding ceremony as the chief guest. Infantry Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Staff Officers, Other Ranks and invitees participated in the awarding ceremony.

Best Blocker - Bombardier D.M.P.V Dasanayake (5 Sri Lanka Artillery) - 22 Division
Best Attacker - Bombardier I.W.S.T Ilukaththa (7 Sri Lanka Artillery) - 23 Division
Best Setter - Bombardier L.A.S.D Navurunna (7 Sri Lanka Artillery) - 23 Division
