224 Brigade troops of the 24 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-East) conducted a special coordinating conference on ‘Dengue prevention’ at the Headquarters of the 24 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) in Thopur on Monday (18).
The aim of this coordinating conference was to take preventive measures and educate the public on the rapidly spreading Dengue menace. General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara took the initiative in this regard.
During this conference, it was decided to conduct Dengue Prevention Campaigns in the areas of Muthur, Thopur, Sampur and Kinniya under the supervision of the government authorities of respective areas, would join hands together for a period of one week commencing from 23 June.
Brigade Commander, 224 Brigade, Colonel E.A.P Ediriweera, MOH Muthur Dr Y Jasmy, MOH Thopur Dr QR Dev, Police officers, Government Officials, Civil Authorities and Moulavis of Muttur area participated in this conference.
