Following a request made by the Marine Environment Protection Authority, (MEPA) from Major General S.B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, General officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, troops of the 221 Infantry Brigade launched a beach cleaning project along the coastal belt in the general area of Nilaveli in Trincomalee on Thursday (4).
More than fifty members of the 17 Sri Lanka National Guard along with Navy, Police, Civil Security Department, and other state employees joined hands to make the project a success.
