Troops of 22 Division joined hands with the MOH office, Trincomalee and conducted a two day Dengue prevention programme during 13 - 14 July in Trincomalee town and its suburbs. It has been organized in parallel with the ongoing island-wide Dengue prevention campaign.
During this two day programme, both state officials and Army troops educated the public on how effectively Dengue can be eliminated by maintaining good hygienic atmosphere at work places and the residences.
The prevention programme was supported by Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division with the supervision provided by Brigadier Sumith Premalal, Brigade Commander, 221 Brigade. Dr S Syolibawan, Medical Officer, Trincomalee, Mr H.M Wimalasiri, Senior Public Health Inspector, government officials and more than 60 troops participated in the programme.
